OVERVIEW
Determining the right church family to join is a significant decision that warrants much prayer and biblical guidance. If you are considering membership at GCC or are just curious about our ministry, we encourage you to attend our Membership Matters class. This class consists of three, fifty minute sessions that meet periodically during the Grace Life hour from 9:00 - 9:50 A.M. The three sessions covered in the Membership Matters class are "Biblical Distinctives for a Local Church", "Biblical Perspectives for Membership", and "Getting to Know Grace".
Membership Matters will help you
- understand biblical distinctives for a local church.
- develop right motivations for formally joining a church.
- become better acquainted with expectations for GCC members.
- become better acquainted with the various ministries of GCC and how you can get plugged in.
MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
- Attend a Membership Matters class.
- Read our Statement of Faith, Bylaws and Membership Covenant.
- Arrange to meet with an elder for an initial interview by calling (256-722-5929) or emailing (gcchsv@gmail.com) the church. This is a time for our leadership to meet you and answer any questions that may have arisen during the Membership Matters class or while reading the above documents.
- Fill-out an application for membership and turn it in to the Elder from your initial meeting.
- This membership process is completed by a formal greeting before the church as a part of our Sunday worship.
